A wet landscape patch between watering cycles
Record the last watering time and whether pool refill or another supply was running. Landscape wetness can involve a line, valve or sprinkler component.
The last watering cycle is a useful reference
A wet patch between cycles warrants attention, although its position alone does not prove a sprinkler line has broken. Note whether pool refill or another known water supply was active at the same time. A photograph from a dry walkway is more useful than digging toward the nearest visible head.
Match the repair to the confirmed component
Ask whether the findings identify a supply line, zone valve, connection or head. A controller schedule and a valve that fails to close are different explanations for continued water. Before work starts, clarify which finding supports the proposed component replacement and whether access through planting is actually necessary.
Identify the irrigation zone and supply
Ask which irrigation zone or supply section can be isolated without assuming the nearest sprinkler is faulty. The zone, supply type and watering cycle help define testing.
