Sun-heated surfaces complicate a temperature pattern
Tell the investigator about the observation time and surface conditions. Thermal imaging records surface temperature, not water inside walls.
Surface heating belongs in the scan context
A temperature difference observed on a sun-heated surface needs the time and exposure conditions alongside the image. Thermal cameras show temperature patterns rather than water itself. A striking color change can therefore be useful for investigation without being a confirmed wet area or a located pipe fault.
Ask for the moisture confirmation
Request the additional evidence used to distinguish moisture from another temperature influence. If the assessment cannot make that distinction under the available conditions, the conclusion should remain limited. The repair discussion should identify what finding would justify opening the surface instead of treating the image colors as a final diagnosis.
What the chosen detection method establishes
Ask how the thermal result is checked against actual moisture rather than relying on a color patch alone. Acoustic findings depend on conditions and need corroborating evidence.
