Active water reaches a finished room
Keep people out of unsafe wet or sagging areas. Keep clear of wet electrical equipment and unstable ceilings.
Protect people before protecting the finish
Water entering a finished room can make an owner reluctant to allow access, but personal safety comes first. Do not remain beneath a sagging ceiling or enter a wet electrical area to photograph valuables. Describe the affected room and continued flow only from a place that is safely accessible.
Urgent control and restoration have different aims
Ask what the first accepted work will accomplish and what would still require later approval. Stopping an active release does not necessarily include assessing every damaged surface or restoring decoration. Keep those responsibilities explicit so an immediate water-control decision is not mistaken for a complete finish-restoration agreement.
Safety and scope before an urgent visit
From a safe place, report whether flow continues and who can provide entry; do not delay the safety response to protect finishes. Leave danger and contact emergency services; arrange access only after safety.
