A wall mark returns after it was repainted
Record how quickly it reappears and which fixtures are used nearby. A stain shows where water appeared, not necessarily its origin.
A recurring mark needs more than another coat
A stain returning after repainting shows that appearance alone did not resolve the concern. Keep the repaint date and the first visible recurrence, plus ordinary fixture-use information. The color or size of the stain does not establish whether a supply line, drainage or another moisture path is involved.
Ask what confirms the source has been addressed
Before scheduling finish work, ask which source was identified and what finding supports the proposed correction. If the investigation has not yet reached a conclusion, keep decoration separate from leak repair. The scope should explain who handles an investigative opening and what remains to be checked before restoration is agreed.
Locate the leak before repairing finishes
Ask whether the moisture source is established before another finish repair is added to the scope. Detection, pipe work and restoration can need separate authorizations.
