A surface looks wet after rain and fixture use
Keep the timing of rain and indoor water use separate. Thermal imaging records surface temperature, not water inside walls.
Separate two overlapping timelines
Rainfall and indoor water use may occur close together, making a surface mark difficult to interpret. Give each its own timeline and explain whether the mark is new or recurrent. Thermal imagery measures temperature patterns; it cannot turn coincident events into proof that a particular pipe is leaking.
Ask how the image becomes a repair decision
The useful question is what additional evidence confirms moisture and connects it to the suspected source. If the assessment cannot distinguish outside entry from plumbing, that uncertainty should appear in the findings. Ask what further authorized observation or access would change the conclusion before a repair opening is chosen.
What the chosen detection method establishes
Ask what moisture confirmation is included and how temperature or sound readings will be interpreted under those conditions. Acoustic findings depend on conditions and need corroborating evidence.
