Water sounds are reported without a visible floor mark
Describe where and when the sound is heard while leaving surfaces intact. A damp floor alone does not locate a pressurized pipe leak.
Record the sound without chasing it
A reported water sound is useful context even when flooring is unmarked. Note its room position and when it occurs during ordinary occupancy, leaving finishes intact. The sound alone does not confirm a pipe beneath the slab; equipment or another water circuit may require consideration before a repair location is selected.
Ask how the sound connects to a line
Request the evidence linking the observation to a particular pressurized section and any corroborating finding. If that connection remains uncertain, an opening should have an explicit investigative purpose rather than be described as a confirmed repair. Clarify whether access and reinstating the existing floor are included in the proposed work.
Distinguish the source before planning access
Ask how the assessment distinguishes a water line sound from equipment or another source. Detection, pipe repair and floor restoration can involve separate scope items.
