Only some fixtures have lost supply pressure
List the affected fixtures and whether others still work. Private line repair depends on its source and documented limits.
The pattern across fixtures matters
If only some fixtures have reduced supply, list those that changed and those still operating normally during ordinary use. This helps define the inquiry without diagnosing the cause. A partial pattern may warrant a branch or fixture question as well as a main-line question; it does not justify excavation by itself.
Ask why the outside line is implicated
Before agreeing to a buried repair, request the finding that distinguishes the proposed supply segment from the unaffected parts of the property. The quote should name the line endpoints and the relevant access. If the assessment has not yet resolved that distinction, keep diagnosis and replacement as separate decisions.
Establish the customer-side line boundary
Ask what supports a main-line problem rather than a branch or fixture issue before excavation is considered. Confirm responsibility and utility locating before excavation.
