A pool repair would disturb the surrounding surface
Discuss the proposed test locations and whether deck access is actually needed. Pool loss can involve refill and evaporation.
A deck opening should answer a specific question
Pool water loss does not automatically require disturbing the surrounding surface. Explain the accessible equipment locations and the existing water-level record. Ask whether the proposed opening follows a finding about a particular circuit or is exploratory access; those descriptions lead to different expectations about the work.
Set the surface approval separately
Before agreeing to deck work, identify who approves the opening and who restores its finish. A detection appointment can produce a finding without including excavation or reinstatement. The repair proposal should connect its access location to that finding rather than describing all pool water loss as one undifferentiated job.
Separate pool testing from pool repair
Ask who approves and reinstates any opening, separating that work from locating a pool leak. Confirm whether the visit provides test findings, a repair proposal or both.
