A floor mark appears under an existing finish
Describe the flooring and visible mark without removing a surface to search for pipework. A damp floor alone does not locate a pressurized pipe leak.
An intact finish can still provide useful context
Describe the existing floor covering, the first marked area and any change already visible during normal use. A photo can preserve that information without lifting flooring. The appearance of the finish does not reveal the pipe route underneath, and the neighborhood name cannot establish the age or material of that pipe.
Distinguish investigation from reinstatement
Ask which evidence makes underfloor access appropriate and how the proposed opening will answer the remaining question. Confirm whether finish removal and reinstatement belong to the same scope or separate arrangements. If the source is not located yet, avoid treating an exploratory opening as a guaranteed completed repair.
Distinguish the source before planning access
Ask what evidence identifies an underfloor source and which access and finish items are included. Detection, pipe repair and floor restoration can involve separate scope items.
